lots to talk about

Well, I have quite a bit of catching up to do, so in no particular order of importance or time, here's what's been happening with us.....

[draper temple dedication]
Christie and I had the opportunity to attend the dedication of the Draper Temple. The dedication took place on March 20-22. Sessions were broadcast to Church meetinghouses throughout Utah and I heard Idaho and Arizona too. We heard from other family members that Church services were canceled or cut short depending on which session was being broadcast to that particular church building. Our building was scheduled to receive the last session at 4:30 p.m. So we had our normal 3 hour block from 11 am to 2 pm. Christie and I had to get special dedication temple recommends. Only members 8 and up could go. So Jordan and Alex stayed home with Steven. We were told to arrive before 4 pm because the doors to the church would be locked at 4 and no latecomers would be allowed (even if it was 4:01). We arrived at 3:45 and over the next 45 minutes we watched a video of the Draper Temple. It showed various rooms and details of the temple. It was fun to see the rooms we'd seen on the tour, and also some of the details we missed. For example, the sego lily is featured in many ways--glass, plaster, paint, etc. The talks were all focused on the temple--the importance of attending the temple, taking the temple with us when we leave, standing in holy places and other related subjects. The sight of many white hankerchiefs waving during the Hosanna Shout was quite stirring. It was a great experience for Christie and I. The picture is the two of us after we got home.
