Jordan's been learning about Australia in school and he's learned a "new language".
To say "good day", you say "g'day".
To say "goodbye", you say "ta".
A "cowgirl" is a "Jilleroo".
A "friend" is a "mate".
A "cowboy" is a "Jackeroo".
The Jilleroos and Jackeroos work on a "station" (ranch).
They don't call their moms "mother", they say "mum".
It's hot and sunny there so they wear "sunnies" (sunglasses).
To relax, they have a "barbie" (barbeque).
If they live near the beach, they go swimming in their "togs" (swimsuits).

Very fun, thanks for posting this- it is interesting to hear how other english languages use different slang and idioms, and words for common things. Too fun!
