life goes on

Not a whole lot has happened since the last post. We've had some wonderfully warm weather and nearly all our snow is melted. This morning I went out to look at the front flower beds and saw a bulb sprouting. I don't know what kind of bulb flowers have been planted here--I just know there ARE some. This will be a fun spring--discovering what hidden treasures are under the ground! We will have a lot of yard clean up though--the last leaves fell just before first snow and didn't get raked up, plus we have a lot of branches to clean up--especially in the front yard.

The winter term of school is over. There is no school tomorrow and parent teacher conferences are next week. Christie and Jordan have both done really well in school. Christie has yet another project to do--this one has to do with American history. She's going to do a comparison of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. I sure don't remember doing so many projects for third grade--but then again, I don't think my third grade year was the normal year. We had that Help the World's Hungry project to raise money to buy alfalfa seed to send to Bolivia and that's practically the only thing I remember about third grade. That and my huge crush on Jeff Fullmer. Oh, I laugh to look back on it now.

The 100th day of school was a little while ago. Jordan did a 100th day book in school. He said,

I could eat 100 M&Ms.
I could eat 100 pizzas.
I could eat 100 spaghettis (he later clarified that to mean "scoops of spaghetti").
But I could never eat 100 sweets (meaning candies).

I asked him if M&Ms weren't candy and he didn't really have a response for that. Gotta love 6 year old logic!

I think I'll update when I want to--not just wait til Sunday when I might forget half of what I want to say. Hope everyone's doing well.

Hi Merilee,
I found your page through your parents' mission blog. It is fun to hear about their adventures. I just wanted to tell you I saw you on TV the other day. I was surprised. We were watching PBS in the morning and there was a little Signing Times story time thing in between the shows and there you were with Jordan. It was fun to see you there. I know that Steven works with them. One of my friends and her children watch Signing Times all of the time. She loves it for her 2 year old. He was signing before talking and it helped out a lot.

Love,
Alison
